Our view of the service
Date of assessment 15 May 2024 to 21 June 2024. This assessment was carried out to follow up on actions we told the provider to take at the last inspection. Bay House is a residential care home. The service provides support to older people and people living with dementia. We looked at 11 quality statements during this assessment. We found 3 breaches of the legal regulation in relation to safe care and treatment, safeguarding and governance. In instances where CQC have decided to take civil or criminal enforcement action against a provider, we will publish this information on our website after any representations and/ or appeals have been concluded. This service remains in special measures. The purpose of special measures is to ensure that services providing inadequate care make significant improvements. Special measures provide a framework within which we user our enforcement powers in response to inadequate care and provide a timeframe within which providers must improve the quality of the care they provide.
People's experience of this service
We spoke with 8 people and 5 relatives of people that use the service. While the people we spoke to expressed that they were generally happy with their care, our assessment found elements of care did not meet the expected standards.
