Our view of the service

Violet’s Homecare Services is a domiciliary care agency and provides personal care to people living in their own homes. Not everyone who used the service received personal care. CQC only inspects where people receive the regulated activity of personal care. This is help with tasks related to personal hygiene and eating. Where they do, we also consider any wider social care provided. At the time of this inspection 50 people were receiving support with personal care. We carried out our on-site assessment on 05 December 2024; off site assessment activity started on 02 December 2024 and ended on 10 December 2024. We spoke with 9 people using the service, 9 family members and 5 members of staff including the registered manager. We requested written feedback from a further 10 members of staff and received 1 response. We looked the 5 priority quality statements during this assessment. People told us they received good care that met their needs. They expressed dissatisfaction with the consistency of staffing but felt all staff members were well trained and professional. Care plans and risk assessment needed to be strengthened to ensure essential information was available for staff guidance. People were respected and valued as individuals, were involved in their care, and asked for feedback regularly about their care.

People's experience of this service

People told us they found staff extremely kind, caring, and supportive and they were happy with the care, treatment and support the service provided. One person said, “The are highly regarded and an excellent agency that assist me with all my requirements.” People told us thy felt safe when receiving care and protected from avoidable harm. Staff were reliable and recruited safely. One relative told us, “The care workers arrive together, and they are usually punctual. They are all excellent and have police checks before they start work. [Family member] is safe with them.” There were sufficient staff to meet people’s needs. However, some people said they did not always receive consistency in relation to staffing. People and those important to them, were involved in the care planning process and were encouraged to provide feedback about their care.
