Our view of the service
The assessment began on 2 October 2024 and ended on 11 September 2024. Cathedral Care (Sale) is a domiciliary care service providing personal care to people living in their own home. At the time of the assessment, there were 44 people being supported by the service. This was the first assessment since the service was registered with the Care Quality Commission. Cathedral Care (Sale) had a stable and knowledgeable management and staff team who were always looking to improve. Staff felt very well supported and there was an open and honest ethos across the service. There were robust governance processes in place and the management team were continually reviewing the care they provided to individuals to ensure they were meeting people’s needs. Safe recruitment processes were in place and staff received training, supervision and appraisal. The provider had worked with the local authority to reduce admissions or re-admission to hospital which had been successful. There were trained trusted assessors working at the service who were trained to carry out a holistic assessment of people’s needs. Staff were fully aware of people’s needs.
People's experience of this service
People were extremely positive about the provider, the management team and staff team. People knew their support staff well and felt comfortable in their company. People felt staff were trained and had the right expertise to support them. Relatives told us Cathedral Care (Sale) was the best home care agency they had ever experienced, and the staff and management team were kind, caring and wonderful. People told us, staff knew their needs well and any changes to their care was always updated in the care plan. Both people and their relatives confirmed staff always gained their consent and explained how the care will be delivered.
