During an assessment under our new approach

We carried out this assessment on 13 January 2025. This was the first inspection of this service which was registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in March 2023. Oaks Care Holdings Ltd is a domiciliary care agency providing personal care to people in their own homes. CQC only inspects where people receive personal care. This is help with tasks related to personal hygiene and eating. Staff were aware of their responsibility to keep people safe and report any concerns to the relevant authorities. However, the registered manager was not aware that all suspected abuse should also be reported to CQC. Staff understood risks to people and how to avoid people being harmed. Where there were accidents and incidents staff learnt lessons from these. Staff knew people well and provided care that was person-centred and individualised, ensuring that people’s consent was obtained in advance. The registered manager had sufficient staff available to provide care to people and care calls were changed and adapted to suit people’s needs. Staff following good practices in relation to people’s medicated creams as well as infection control practices. Staff listened to people and worked with external professionals to provide the most appropriate care. Staff enjoyed working at the service and told us the registered manager had an open door. They felt supported, received sufficient training and were comfortable speaking up. Staff were recruited through good recruitment processes. The registered manager undertook audits and checks on the service as well as spot checks with staff to help ensure they were providing a good service.
