Date of Assessment: 2 December to 20 December 2024. The service is a residential care home providing support to younger adults living with learning disabilities. This was the first assessment of the service. We carried this out so we could provide a rating. The provider had a good learning culture and people could raise concerns. The management team investigated incidents thoroughly. Risks associated with people’s care and support were identified and action taken to mitigate them. People were accommodated in individual houses which met their needs and were clean and well-maintained. There were enough staff with the right skills, qualifications and experience. The management team made sure staff received training, regular appraisals and support to maintain high-quality care. Staff managed medicines well and involved people in planning any changes. We have assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted.
