We found the service to be caring. We saw evidence to support people were treated with compassion, kindness, dignity and respect. People were involved with their treatment.

Kindness, compassion and dignity

Score: 3

People told us they were treated with kindness, dignity, and respect. Staff took time to ensure people were involved in social activities such as going shopping, going to cafés and local events. One person told us, "We're going shopping in [town] tomorrow. it's very busy there. I like going to the café nearby, I like to go out." A person told us, "I like it here, people are friendly, and I do feel safe, nobody hassles me. I can get up and shower when I want, I like the cooking and choosing a film [to watch]"

Staff told us they enjoyed working at the service. One staff member told us they were there because they wanted to help people

We sought feedback from the local authority, but no response was received.

We observed staff interacting in a caring and patient manner with people. Staff appeared to get on well together. Managers were seen to be engaging with staff and people, which created a friendly homely environment.
