Our view of the service
We had previously undertaken a comprehensive inspection of Ealing Dental and Medical Stunning Smile Skin Clinic on 28 June 2024 under Section 60 of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 as part of our regulatory functions. We found the registered provider was not providing safe or well-led care and was in breach of regulations 12 and 17 of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014. We undertook a follow up focused assessment on 8 October 2024. This assessment was carried out to review the actions taken by the registered provider to improve the quality of care and to confirm that the practice was now meeting legal requirements. We found the practice had met all regulations. The practice had systems to manage risks and recruitment procedures reflected current legislation. Infection control procedures and management of medicines were in line with published guidance. The practice had taken steps to ensure there was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement. This service is registered with CQC under the Health and Social Care Act 2008 in respect of some, but not all, of the services it provides. There are some exemptions from regulation by CQC which relate to particular types of regulated activities and services and these are set out in Schedule 1 and Schedule 2 of The Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014. The service provides non-surgical cosmetic treatments, some of which are not in-scope such as certain facial aesthetics procedures. The practice is in Ealing in the London Borough of Ealing and provides private dental care and treatment for adults and some children. There was step free access to the practice. The practice had 2 treatment rooms. During the assessment we spoke with the principal dentist, 2 dental nurses, 1 receptionist and the practice manager.
