Our view of the service

13 January 2025 to 14 January 2025. Knightwick Surgery is a GP practice and delivers service to 4997 patients under a contract held with NHS England. Information published by Office for Health Improvement and Disparities shows that deprivation within the practice population group is in the 7 decile (7 of 10). The lower the decile, the more deprived the practice population is relative to others. This assessment considered the demographics of the patients using the service, the context the service was working within and how this impacted service delivery. Where relevant, further commentary is provided in the quality statements section of this report. The practice had a good learning culture and people could raise concerns. The facilities and equipment were well maintained, and any risks were mitigated. Staff made sure patients understood their care and treatment to enable them to give informed consent. Patients were treated with compassion, kindness, dignity and respect. Patients spoke positively about the support and care staff offered to them. The practice supported staff wellbeing. Staff treated patients equally and without discrimination. Patients were able to access appointments in a timely manner when they needed them. Patients were involved in planning their care and were provided information they could understand. Leaders had clear and effective governance processes. Leaders were visible and knowledgeable, and helped staff develop in their roles. Staff understood their roles and responsibilities and knew who was accountable for each aspect of the service. Staff were very positive about the leadership and told us they felt listened to and supported.

People's experience of this service

Patients were very positive about the quality of their care and treatment. Recent survey results including the National GP Patient Survey showed patients were satisfied with their overall experience, including their ease of contacting the practice. Patients told us they could access appointments in a timely manner, and they felt cared for and listened to. They said how kind and supportive staff were and they felt involved in decisions about their care.
