Totley Rise Dental Practice

During an assessment under our new approach

We carried out this announced on-site assessment on 16 October 2024. We found the practice had met regulations. There was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement. Patients’ care and treatment was provided in line with current guidance, and infection control procedures were in place. Patients were treated with dignity and respect and at the time of our assessment, could access care, support and treatment when required. The practice had systems to manage risks. A system should be implemented for receiving and responding to patient safety alerts, recalls and rapid response reports. Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation. However, the provider should ensure Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks are consistently carried out for new staff, and dental nurses are provided with details of indemnity cover arrangements. The practice is in Sheffield and provides NHS and private dental care and treatment for adults and children. The practice has a car park at the rear of the property. This included dedicated parking for disabled people. There was access for wheelchair users via a portable ramp from the practice car park to the rear entrance. The practice had 3 treatment rooms. During the assessment we spoke with 3 dentists (including the foundation dentist), 2 dental nurses, 1 dental therapist and the practice manager.
