Our view of the service
Mi Casa Care is a service providing personal care to people living in their own homes. Providing long term and short-term care to people including those living with dementia. At the time of the assessment, the service was supporting 55 people. We received concerns about the service surrounding staff recruitment and training and as a result we undertook an assessment to look at 11 quality statements; safe environments, safe and effective staffing, medicines optimisation, assessing needs, workforce wellbeing and enablement, person centred care, shared direction and future, capable, compassionate and inclusive leaders, freedom to speak up, workforce equality, diversity and inclusion and governance, management and sustainability. We assessed some but not all quality statements at this visit which means we use the ratings from the previous inspection to rate the key questions overall.
People's experience of this service
People and staff spoke positively about the service. People told us they felt safe with staff and were confident staff were knowledgeable about their condition and how they wished to be supported. People said they were supported by a small and consistent group of staff members and knew which staff would be attending in advance. Staff feedback supported this, and they commented this consistency had allowed trusting relationships to be formed which ensured people received person centred care. People spoke highly about the managers of the service. Staff confirmed the registered manager and care manager were very approachable and supported the team well.
