Independence, choice and control

Care plans contained clear and comprehensive guidance for staff to enable them to promote peoples' independence. Peoples' choices and preferences were documented, and care plans clearly indicated where people were independent, and where they needed support.

Staff we spoke with told us they received the training they need to meet people's needs, choices and preferences. Staff received training in the Mental Capacity Act (MCA) and understood the principles of the MCA.

People we spoke with expressed they had choice and control over their care, treatment and well-being.
