Governance, management and sustainability

Score: 3

The trust had a clear governance structure for the division, covering risk, quality, performance, finance, strategic initiatives, and high-level governance. We reviewed meeting minutes and found concerns were escalated appropriately, minutes were comprehensive, and actions were detailed with clear ownership. However, nursing notes were stored on wall rails in corridors, raising confidentiality concerns. This practice was confirmed to be a carryover from the pandemic and would be reviewed. On Neptune Ward, paper patient records couldn’t be stored securely due to a broken portable storage cupboard. This issue was raised and addressed with a request for a new unit or lock repair.
