Caring
During our assessment of this key question, we found staff promoted people's independence, choice and control. People were being supported by a regular staff team and relatives told us staff knew people well and were highly complementary of the care people received. We found improvements were required to ensure care plans and risk assessments were detailed and completed in line with people’s needs.

Independence, choice and control
Relatives told us staff promoted people's independence, choice and control. They spoke very highly about staff' approach and the quality of the care their relatives received. Comments included, "We have hit gold. They really go above and beyond” and “This is the best care [name of person] has had."
Staff told us they knew people well and had enough time to spend with people. A staff member told us, "We speak to the clients about what they want" and "Yes we have never had an issue (with having enough time to spend with people)."
There were policies and procedures in place in relation to care planning and risk assessments. However, during our inspection, we found improvements were required in relation to how detailed these were, and, in some cases, these were not in place at the time of our visit. Besides this, people were being supported by a regular staff team and relatives told us staff knew people well and were highly complementary of the care people received.
