Independence, choice and control
Feedback given by people who used the service was highly positive. Post treatment feedback questionnaires clearly evidenced how the service had promoted people’s independence. Comments received from people who used the service included “Life is a lot easier after treatment and being sober is fantastic” and “I came here and managed to get my life back”. We saw evidence of people’s requests to attend appointments and community activities arranged by staff, effectively promoting choice and independence.
Leaders told us how the service user guidebook and individual care plans were used to ensure people’s independence, choice and control were promoted. This was balanced against aspects of safety relating to individual treatment pathways people were on.
Processes were in place to routinely collect feedback from people using the service. Regular meetings were held by staff to respond to issues raised. The service had a detailed welcome pack and assigned staff to be key workers.
