Well-led – this means we looked for evidence that service leadership, management and governance assured high-quality, person-centred care; supported learning and innovation; and promoted an open, fair culture. At our last assessment we rated this key question Good. At this assessment the rating has remained Good. This meant the service was consistently managed and well-led. Leaders and the culture they created promoted high-quality, person-centred care.

Freedom to speak up

The registered manager told us, “We promote openness through an open-door policy, allowing staff to discuss concerns freely. They can also speak with the Freedom to Speak Up Champion or raise issues in team meetings. When concerns are shared, we work together to implement changes without delay while ensuring the individual's identity is protected and safeguarded.’’

Staff told us they were aware of the Freedom to Speak Up policy and were encouraged to speak up in the team meetings. A staff member told us, “If I have issues, I can go to the freedom to speak up person and raise concerns.’’

Governance, management and sustainability

Score: 3

People using the service and staff reported that the service was organised and well-managed. An external professional commented, “I feel they are a good provider.’’ The registered manager carried out audits, spot checks, supervisions, and implemented action plans to maintain high-quality care and best practices. The provider shared information with staff and people using the service about the service’s policies and procedures. The provider had a business continuity plan, to help ensure the service could continue running during and after disruptions.
