There were systems in place to check the quality of the service. The Manager, provider and staff understood their roles. There were management systems in place to ensure the quality of the service was checked and monitored. The service did not have a manager registered with the Care Quality Commission at the time of the assessment. The service had been without a registered manager since August 2022. An acting manager had been appointed by the provider to oversee the management of the service. At the time of the assessment the service had not applied to register the acting manager with the Care Quality commission. This provider is required to have a Registered Manager to oversee the delivery of regulated activities at this location.

Governance, management and sustainability

The service did not have a manager registered with the Care Quality Commission at the time of this assessment. An acting manager had been appointed by the provider to oversee the management of the service.The provider had systems and processes in place to effectively assess, monitor and improve the quality and safety of the service. Where checks identified areas of concern, appropriate action was taken to mitigate risk and drive improvement. Accidents and incidents were regularly reviewed and action was taken where appropriate to reduce the risk of re-occurrence.

The manager told us they felt supported by the provider and told us they had an open-door policy. The manager promoted a positive culture that was person-centred, open, inclusive and empowering which achieved good outcomes for the people. Staff told us they felt confident raising concerns with the manager. They also told us supervision and team meetings took place on a regular basis. Records confirmed this.
