Our view of the service

Absolute Care Westbourne is a domiciliary care service providing a regulated activity or personal care. The service was providing personal care and support to people in their own homes. Not everyone who used the service received personal care. CQC only assesses where people receive personal care. This is help with tasks related to personal hygiene and eating. Where they do, we also consider any wider social care provided. At the time of the assessment there were 33 people receiving personal care from the service. The assessment took place on 9 and 10 January 2025. People were protected from avoidable harm. Staff were knowledgeable regarding reporting potential abuse and appropriate safeguarding referrals were made. Risks to people were identified, assessed and reviewed which enabled staff to support people safely and effectively. Risk assessments were in place, up to date and reflected people’s changing health needs. Sufficient levels of staff had been recruited safely and had the necessary skills, experience and training to support people safely. People felt listened to and staff felt supported in their roles. Staff knew people well, recognised their likes and dislikes and provided care and support in ways people preferred. Staff treated people with kindness, dignity and patience and ensured people were given choice in how they received their care and support. Staff and people were treated equally and people were provided with individualised, person-centred support to ensure they experienced positive outcomes.

People's experience of this service

People told us they felt safe with the care and support provided by Absolute Care Westbourne. People liked the staff who supported them . One person said, “I can’t fault them at all.” People told us care staff arrived on time, knew how they wished their care and support to be given and received their care from a regular team of care staff. There were enough staff to support people safely. One person told us, “There are enough staff, they’re lovely.” People said the care staff treated them with kindness, dignity and respect. People were supported to maintain their independence. People told us they felt the service was well managed. One person said, “From what I have observed the agency is well managed.” Another person told us, “What the staff do well is that they work very well together, it’s great teamwork.” A further person said, “The service is very good, excellent in fact. I can ask them anything.”
