Equity in experiences and outcomes

Score: 3

People were treated with equality and fairness by a team of diverse staff. No issues were raised about the experiences of care people had received.

Staff had a flexible approach to care provided and this supported positive outcomes. One staff member said, “I always try to ensure I treat people fairly, although we are all different, as we all have our own personalities, I always ask people what they would like, I always introduce myself, tell them what I am there for. I always try and think what I would want, if I was the person who was to be receiving care.”

Processes were in place to ensure people had equal access to their care experiences and could achieve positive outcomes wherever possible. Equality and diversity policies and staff training was in place and up to date. The management team regularly reviewed people's care records to ensure outcomes were monitored and supported. There was some work required to ensure care records were fully up to date and this was being addressed.
