Capable, compassionate and inclusive leaders
Staff felt well supported by managers and felt confident approaching them. Managers reported being well supported and found senior colleagues accessible. Both staff and managers received support and opportunity to further develop and upskill.
There were appropriate systems in place for the recruitment of staff. Staff received supervision but both management and clinical supervision compliance was variable and ranged between 25% and 94%.
Freedom to speak up
All staff were aware of the speak up process and felt that they could raise concerns without fear of detriment. However, some staff felt that their concerns had not been acted upon on all occasions, leading staff to raise concerns externally.
Appropriate systems were in place to support staff freedom to speak up. These included a Freedom to Speak Up trust policy, two guardians and freedom to speak up champions.
