Caring
Caring – this means we looked for evidence that the provider involved people and treated them with compassion, kindness, dignity and respect. At our last assessment we rated this key question good. At this assessment the rating has remained Good. This meant people feel well-supported, cared for or treated with dignity and respect. People were treated with kindness, compassion and dignity in their day-to-day care and support. People felt that staff listened to them and communicated with them in a respectful way. People were supported to have choice, control, and to make decisions about their care, treatment, and well-being where reasonably possible. People told us that the support and care they received helped to maintain their independence. The provider promoted the wellbeing of staff to ensure they were happy and effective in their roles. Staff told us that they felt well supported in their role. We did not assess all the quality statements within this key question. We did not identify concerns relating to these areas which we judged as being met at our last inspection.

Kindness, compassion and dignity
People were treated with kindness, compassion and dignity in their day-to-day care and support. People felt that staff listened to them and communicated with them in a respectful way. A relative commented, ‘’We see the same carer, [they are] very good, kind and respectful to us.’’
Treating people as individuals
We did not look at Treating people as individuals during this assessment. The score for this quality statement is based on the previous rating for Caring.
Independence, choice and control
People were supported to have choice, control, and to make decisions about their care, treatment, and well-being where reasonably possible. Care plans included details of people’s day-to-day needs, preferences, and routines. People told us that the support and care they received helped to maintain their independence.
Responding to people’s immediate needs
We did not look at Responding to people’s immediate needs during this assessment. The score for this quality statement is based on the previous rating for Caring.
Workforce wellbeing and enablement
The provider promoted the wellbeing of staff. The registered manager commented, ‘’We share and offer free resources to support staff in taking care of their own well-being so that it will make staff happy and effective in their role. A staff member told us, ‘’The company offer me wellbeing support, which is something new to me, as a care worker. I have not seen this in my past employments. If I need further support, I know where to get help, which is very thoughtful’’.
